I need a summer to-do list independent of the 101 Things List on the right.
I signed myself up for the Naperville Riverwalk festival at the end of June.
- I need to research more vendor fairs.
- I need to make some new prints.
- Buy a printer cartridge.
- Post some things on Etsy.
- Think about my senior show. I don't want to think about my senior show.
- Crochet 3 things for winter for my Etsy shop. I need to stay ahead of the seasonal curve.
- Register for the Fun Run on July 3rd.
- Make a syllabus for the summer ceramics class I'm teaching.
- Reclaim some clay for the summer kids' ceramic classes I'm teaching.
So yes. The senior show. I thought I had my proposal in the bag and it turns out I don't. I have a lot of research to do.
Ugh.
I should be happy that a small wedding means very little planning so thank god I don't have that to think about on top of SENIOR SHOW.

Latest Happenings
It's been awhile. Sorry.
I've been busy with school. I'm really surprised to see how much this semester has taken up my time. The good news is that I've been able to work on some freelance design projects for my portfolio, which has really really really helped! I have to turn in a portfolio next week to declare my status in the senior seminar program and without those freelance projects I don't know where I'd be. So I'm really grateful for the people who worked with me and the experience I've gained.
School ends in a few weeks and I might have a summer job lined up. I'm excited about that as well. I have some great weekend plans coming up and with the spring weather finally getting here I'm looking forward to getting out and about. Adam and I started Couch to 5K in March and while I've been battling a shinsplint I've been really proud of the progress I've made. I'm hoping to get in shape enough to run a 5k in June. Here's hoping! I've also renewed my gym membership and I've been doing pretty well about getting in there. I've even fit into an older pair of pants I'd retired for awhile. Yes!
I'm hoping to have a couple wedding related posts up in the next few weeks. I've been debating how to set up a wedding website and I'm going to keep working at how I want it to look.

A Request
I felt weird posting this on my Etsy blog, but here goes:
I am a junior year art student specializing in design. In order for me to interview for jobs when I graduate, I need to show a book of work that I've made both in school and for clients. This is where I could use the help.
If anyone needs a business card layout, banner, advertisement, coupons, invitations etc. made for you, feel free to contact me at johnson (dot) angie (at) gmail (dot) com. This does not have to be Etsy related at all. It could be invites for a relative's party, it could be a Valentine's day present for your spouse. Anything digital, I can do it (except websites). I've made my own business card and Etsy banner. If you want to see more of my work, let me know.
The best part is I want to do this for free. It is a win-win situation. You get a shiny new business card layout (that I can send you digitally so you can either print it out at your home or take it to Vistaprint for professional printing) and I get to add the work to my book.
Thank you!

Free to be Wii, you and me!

It was a very Wii Christmas up in WI yesterday, when Mom, Dad, Brian, Adam and I went up to see my cousins. Many games of Wii were played, and I somehow magically rolled a 254 game. Don't ask me how I did that. Even Roger got into the act, which now has been documented for eternity. Note: he whomped Dad twice.

Scratch that off the list...
We're engaged!

Adam and I went on a nature hike this morning at the Little Red Schoolhouse. We were tracking deer and other wildlife and Adam wanted to take a picture of us since no one else was around. We found a stump to set the camera on and when Adam was done fiddling with the automatic timer he got down on one knee and proposed. I thought he was getting out a pair of gloves. Total shock. The ring is a new setting of another ring Adam's mom had with sapphires and smaller diamonds in yellow gold. The finished ring is white gold with the diamonds running down the side and fits perfectly. What a great morning!

Things I Need To Get Done, Winter Break Edition
I just started winter break this past weekend for a month. In the past few days, I've learned I'm going to have an art show at the local library in March, for which I'll have to prepare a couple images, matted and framed ready for review in January. Then there was the issue of all of the craft projects I wanted to get done between now and January 12th. So, let's see what all I'd like to get done.
-Finish Adam's hat
-Make holiday cookies
-Work on 6 images for library show
-Mail Etsy package
-Make 2 scarflettes
- Finish one quilting project
- Organize file cabinet contents
-Get books for spring semester
- Back up computer on portable hard drive
-Organize computer files
I'll probably have more to add to this as time goes on but this is a decent enough start.
